auditory and visual loss

Conditions affecting sight or hearing can influence driving ability and may need to be declared to the NDLS where they create a safety concern. This can include issues such as narrowed field of vision, glaucoma, cataracts, or hearing difficulties. Drivers are also required to meet the visual standards set out by the RSA for licence eligibility.

At Atlantic Driving Assessments, we look beyond routine eyesight and hearing screening by evaluating how these factors may affect real-world driving performance and decision-making in live traffic environments. Where appropriate, we can also advise on suitable adaptive equipment or vehicle adjustments designed to support safer and more comfortable driving.
